• Oct. 2024: Dr. Chen Kan and Ph.D. student Yujing Yang attended the 2024 INFORMS Annual Meeting in Seattle, WA. Yujing presented her recent work “Point Cloud Representation Learning via Graph Signal Processing for Quality Assurance of Additive Manufacturing”. Dr. Kan presented the work with former Ph.D. student Zehao Ye “Incremental Point Cloud Profiling for Layer-wise Monitoring in Additive Manufacturing of Metamaterials”.
  • (New paper) Oct. 2024, Our paper “Recurrence analysis of 3D point clouds for the detection of surface anomalies in advanced manufacturing,” is published in Manufacturing Letters. Co-authors: Yujing Yang, Zehao Ye, Dr. Yinan Wang (Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute), and Dr. Chenang Liu (Oklahoma State University).

  • (Award)June 2023: Dr. Chen Kan received an award from the Utilities Service Alliance for the development of a mobile fire sensing system (Collaborated with Drs. Jay Rosenberger, Brian Huff, and Victoria Chen).
  • June 2023: Dr. Chen Kan and Zehao Ye attended the 51th NAMRC/MSEC conference at Rutgers University and presented their paper “Stereo Vision enabled Flexible In-situ Process Authentication of Additive Manufacturing” (Joint work with Dr. Chenang Liu from Oklahoma State University). Zehao received the NSF Student Travel Support for this conference.
